The Rescue Sport Series Awards Evening will bring the 2025–2026 season to a close on 30 May 2026 at the Salt River Terrace Rooftop, celebrating a record year of competition across Surf, Pool, and Ocean (Iron) disciplines.
This season featured 11 Surf and Pool events, alongside the introduction of Oceanwoman and Oceanman racing, marking a major expansion of the Series and a significant step forward for the role that Lifesaving Western Cape plays in driving innovation and growth for lifesaving sport in South Africa.
Across the evening, athletes, clubs, officials, and contributors will be recognised for their performances, consistency, and impact throughout the season.

CHAMPION AWARDS
The Champion Awards represent the highest level of achievement in the Rescue Sport Series, recognising excellence across all competitive disciplines.
Titles, cash prizes, and trophies will be awarded to:
- Top 5 Open athletes per discipline
- Top 3 U19 athletes per discipline
- 1st place U17 champions
- 1st place U15 champions
This includes results across all 11 Surf and Pool events, as well as Oceanwoman and Oceanman (Iron) rankings.
These awards reflect season-long consistency, performance under pressure, and excellence across multiple disciplines within the sport.
RECOGNITION AWARDS
Beyond racing performance, the Rescue Sport Series Awards also celebrate the people and clubs who drive the sport forward.
BEST OVERALL CLUB AWARD – R25,000
This award recognises consistent, top-tier performance across both Surf and Pool disciplines.
It is awarded to the club that demonstrates depth, strength, and commitment from junior to master athletes across the entire season.
The winning club will receive R25,000 in recognition of their overall excellence and contribution to the Series.
CLUB GROWTH AWARD – R25,000
The Club Growth Award celebrates the club that achieved the highest percentage increase in participation this season.
Growth reflects more than numbers — it represents athlete development, recruitment, structure, and sustained engagement across all levels of the sport.
The winning club will receive R25,000 in recognition of their development impact.

OUTSTANDING SURF OFFICIALS AWARD – R3,000
Awarded for exemplary event management and dedication.

From grassroots development to elite performance, this year has demonstrated the strength of structured competition and the importance of building a sustainable pathway for athletes across Surf, Pool, and Ocean disciplines.
