The Clifton Cauldron: Surf Season Opener of the Rescue Sports Series

The sand is warm, the Atlantic crisp, and the first whistle of the season is about to shatter the calm. On 15 November 2025 at 13:30, Clifton 4th Beach transforms into the Clifton Cauldron, a proving ground where every athlete is tested on speed, skill, and strategy.

Framed by granite boulders and backed by the mountains, this compact beach demands precision. The shorebreak can punish a single misstep, and spectators and anchored yachts are drawn into every moment of the racing.

The season opener features:

  • Sprints
  • Board
  • Ski
  • Surf Swim
  • Beach Relay
  • Taplin
  • Mixed Beach Relay

This is the first of four surf competitions this season. Athletes will be eager to earn points on the leaderboards and stake their claim in the individual titles.

Hosted by Clifton Surf Lifesaving Club, guardians of this beach since 1956, the event combines tradition, skill, and the pursuit of excellence. The Rescue Sports Series motto, Better Athletes, Better Lifeguards, reminds competitors that what they learn here carries beyond the competition and onto the beaches they protect.

From the first whistle to the last sprint, the Clifton Cauldron promises intense racing, unforgettable moments, and a season set in motion. The beach is ready. Are you?

Results will be recorded on LiveHeats. Check out rescuesportseries.com for full updates.
