From the beach to the pool deck, 268 Technical Officials gave their time, energy and expertise this season. Their patience, flexibility and support for the Rescue Sport Series’ evolving formats made the calendar possible. The WCAC created the Outstanding Officials Awards to recognise individuals who consistently demonstrate leadership, composure and a commitment to fair, fun and safe competition.
Manuele Wilfart is the 2025 Outstanding Surf Official of the Year—a calm, kind and quietly powerful presence who transforms the marshalling arena into a space of clarity and care. Renowned for professionalism, fairness and unwavering composure, she manages one of the sport’s most pressurised zones with empathy and precision, keeping events on track while ensuring athletes feel seen, safe and supported.
Her signature approach—often summed up in the simple phrase, “I’ll come to you”—reflects how she leads: with humility, thoughtfulness and a deep understanding of what athletes need in the moment. Whether guiding first-time competitors or navigating last-minute changes, Manuele brings a steady hand and a warm manner that lifts the whole arena.
This award is a tribute to the difference she makes—not only in how events run, but in how people feel. The Rescue Sport Series congratulates Manuele Wilfart and thanks every Surf Official whose dedication keeps our sport fair, efficient and athlete-centred.
